Westcoast Black Community Theatre Troupe
Located right down the street from The Courtyard at Citrus (8 mins), The WBTT was founded in 1999 by actor, singer, director, and playwright Nate Jacobs and is the only professional black theatre company on Florida’s west coast. The theatre has experienced great success with an average attendance rate of 94%. Check out their current season here!
Right across from Whole Foods, the Urbanite Theatre is about a 6 min walk from the Courtyard at Citrus Square. The Urbanite theatre strives to bring fresh works from burgeoning playwrights, undiscovered pieces from great writers, and actor-driven productions to provide compelling, intimate live theatre experiences. The Players Theatre
A brief 15 minute (.7 mile) walk from the Courtyard at Citrus will land you at The Players Theatre. The Players Theatre is one of Sarasota’s oldest Community Theatres and is dedicated to delivering a variety of quality performances including broadway classics and intimate plays. The Van Wezel
A one mile walk from the Courtyard at Citrus via Boulevard of the Arts and you’ll end up at Sarasota’s premier theatre venue– The Van Wezel. The Van Wezel presents spectacular Broadway musicals, top national and international performers, popular comedians, world-class symphony orchestras and a compelling mix of classical, modern and ethnic dance.
